Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Maniac handles when you plan, generate and manage an AI-native film production.

Last updated · 14 July 2026

01

Information we collect

We collect account and profile details, workspace membership, subscription and transaction references, support communications, device and usage information, and the creative material you submit to a production.

Production material may include screenplays, prompts, character and world descriptions, reference images, audio, generated media, reviews and project metadata.

02

How we use information

We use information to operate and secure Maniac, provide production workflows, process subscriptions, route requested generation work, improve reliability, communicate service information and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use private production content for advertising.

03

AI providers and your credentials

When you request generation, Maniac may send the prompt, selected references and required settings to the AI provider you choose. That provider processes the request under its own terms and privacy policy.

Maniac performs generation on your behalf through its own provider accounts. Avoid placing unnecessary personal or confidential information in prompts.

04

How information is shared

Information may be shared with infrastructure, storage, authentication, payment, monitoring and generation providers that help deliver the service; with workspace collaborators you authorize; or when required for safety, legal compliance, a corporate transaction or protection of rights.

Payment card details are handled by the payment processor and are not intended to be stored by Maniac.

05

Storage, retention and deletion

We retain account information while the account is active and as needed for legal, security and billing obligations. Production assets remain available according to the applicable plan and storage policy until deleted or the workspace is closed.

Deletion requests may take time to propagate through backups. Provider-generated assets may also remain subject to the selected provider's retention practices.

06

Security

We use access controls, authenticated workspaces, transport protection, limited service permissions and operational monitoring appropriate to the service. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

For more information, review our security practices.

07

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict or delete personal information, or object to certain processing. Workspace administrators may control production data associated with an organization.

You can manage account information in the product. For additional requests, use the support channel in your account.

08

International use, children and changes

Information may be processed in countries other than your own. Maniac is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required by local law. We may update this policy as the product or applicable requirements change and will revise the date above.
